Summary

Reporting to the FP&A Business & Planning Controller at LDC, the FP&A Business & Planning Analyst would come to reinforce a team aimed at assessing, analyzing, understanding, and explaining business at LDC. As such, the role will embrace two main aspects: 1/ work on regular analysis and previsions streams (actuals, landing, budget, business plan) towards Management instances & Board meetings and 2/ take part in ad-hoc financial analysis for strategy topics (in this role, counterparts being Strategy as a whole and CSO in particular).

Responsibilities

Along with the below listed responsibilities, the employee should conduct any other business related to the function as required by his supervisor.

This position is characterized by the variety of tasks and topics handled. Among which:

Taking part in regular data production and analysis for main Management instances & Board meetings. This comprises P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow analysis, as well as other ad-hoc topics.Working on Budget and Business Plan: help to define timeline, models, and presentation materials, organize and structure flows of information. Then consolidate, analyze and challenge data before reporting it to Management. On a mid-term basis, the candidate should be able to take over a great part of those tasks on his/her own.Assisting the manager in various regular or ad-hoc analyses (examples could be: profitability of investments, Working Capital usage, profitability analyses, WACC, financial structure and loans, corporate financial analysis, etc.)Providing support to the Strategy department, only working on an ad-hoc basis with a large scope of missions such as backtesting profitability of past investments, helping out in financial decisions upon next strategic moves for our businesses, challenge datasets, etc.

Experiences

1 – 2 years of experience on preferably a corporate finance role (FP&A, TS…), ideally in a large, diverse and multicultural company. An experience in a management-consulting firm would also be appreciated. An experience in pure financial analysis (involving accounting, controlling, FP&A skillset) An experience in a commodity industry is a significant advantage but is not mandatory. An experience in an M&A environment or as a valuation analyst is also a significant advantage.

Skills

Understanding of accounting (accounting mechanisms should be mastered) Strong analytical skills and ability to tackle various subjects in parallel Interest in finance-related problematics Knowledge of the basics of market finance Understanding of commodities valuation and mechanism is a plus Excellent practice of Excel (knowledge of macros, Power Query, etc.) Ability to quickly master Finance IT tools (BFC, Business Objects, SAP…) Fluent written and verbal English skills
